On June 11, 2011, Rick Stevens and ASR Studios in Bakersfield, California held a benefit recording session at American Sound Recording Studios called "Bakersfield Jamz For Carter." This event was designed to raise money for young Carter, a 3 year old who is suffering from Eosinophilic Esophagitis – a very rare, complicated, and complex disease that depletes the body of iron and essential nutrients necessary for proper development and physical growth.  In addition, the symptoms associated with this disease are painful cramping, bleeding, vomiting, and polyps.  In many cases, children develop severe damage to their digestive tracts.  Due to the lack of nourishment caused from multiple food allergies or intolerance to so many foods, some children must rely on a simplified liquid formula or a feeding tube for their nutrition on a daily basis.

The music community in Bakersfield reached out. There were several acts that donated their time, talent and original music to help this cause. And, because of them, we are very pleased to offer this compilation CD of some of the best talent in the southern San Joaquin Valley! 100% of the proceeds from the sales of this CD will go straight to Carter, and for research for this disease of which there is no cure.
